H by Harris

Wednesday 09 June 2010

untitled

Harris Elliott is a very good friend of ours at Oliver Spencer and recently celebrated the first year of his luggage range, H by Harris. All manufactured in London, using the softest nappa and nubuck leathers, his range certainly dictates what luggage should be about. It slaloms the lines of masculine and feminine and bridges the casual to contemporary gap with real definition.

My favourite would have to be the Skinny Tote in charcoal, but see for yourself, here - www.hbyharris.com/

Rude Britannia: British Comic Art

Tuesday 08 June 2010

This exhibition at Tate Britain opens tomorrow.  It is exploring British comic art from the 1600s to the present day.  Bringing together a wide array of paintings, sculptures, film and photography, as well as graphic art and comic books, the exhibition celebrates a rich history of cartooning and visual jokes.

Rude Brittania

As a big fan of Harry Hill's TV burp I was delighted to find out that there is an absurd room  curated by Harry... if you have 5 mins and fancy a laugh you can read more here in the Tate Etc Magazine where Harry talks about his own art work such as 'The descent of Chris Tarrant into Hell' and 'Is Progress Really Neccessary?'

the descent of Chris Tarrant

There is  a comedy art forum talk Thursday 15 July 2010, 19.00–22.30 at Tate Britain from Harry Hill, Shawn Lock & Gail Tuesday.

Definately worth checking out. Back to a rainy Tuesday now...
