Whiskey & Linen

A shirt never felt so good!

With a couple lovely days of sunshine and tolerable temperature under our belt here in the city, Spring can't be too far off. Right? The only way to describe the recent weather here is, foul. That is all.

Now, doom and gloom behind us, I would like to address two very serious pieces of necessary property.  Our new Linen/Cotton Army Shirts in Bude Red and Bude Blue.  Yes, I said Linen. Yes it is still February. Yes, I am wearing them with religious excitement, now.  Both under a navy wool cardigan, come on...can you blame me.  The minute both of them arrived at the shop, they begged to return home with me, and I being the 'old-softy' that I am, I had to take them both.  Who ever said you can't wear linen all year round.  Earliest record of linen is in Egypt, 4,000 years ago!  I mean, these guys used linen as currency! Crazy.   Linen for all!  All year round.  Never let anyone tell you what to wear.  Come to think of it, that's really the philosophy in the shop: We want to dress you not sell to you.  Obviously if everyone would just wear linen we'd be fine...well, anyway.  That got me all fired up, so, it must be time for a cocktail.  Since it's not really time for Pimm's yet, lets do a Crown Royal.  It's Canadian whiskey.  I could lie and say it's in honor of the Olympics, but the truth is my Dad drinks it and the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Take a highball glass, add a couple of cubes (and for God's sake, rinse off the cubes in the glass first. Every cocktail starts with clean cubes.) Add 2 fingers of Crown Royal, and a splash of spring water.  Sip and forget your woes.

Come see us at the shop, if we were any more relaxed we'd fall out of our chair.

This is R Grady Dennis Jr. in NYC signing off.
