Green is one our favourite colours here at Oliver Spencer, not least for its diversity, spanning a vast spectrum of hues, each with a different personality, from the deep rich forest greens at one end, to the vibrant apple and acid green hues at the other. In the winter season, we naturally gravitate towards the dark tones, but in the spring and summer, a whole new gamut of tones open up for consideration, from military-inspired olives and earthy khaki tones to cooler tones such as pistachio and mint. Green is also the most visible colour to the human eye due to its wavelength, which helps to make it one of the easiest colours to incorporate into your wardrobe.
Padworth
The earthiest of this season's green tones, the Padworth hue is a deep khaki green, almost 'muddy' you might say. It's a great foil for those of you who prefer a muted palette, or regularly wear understated base tones such as black, charcoal, and navy, but it works equally well set against the much lighter gamut of creams and whites. It also pairs really well with our lighter green tones. This season we've used it to create our Treviscoe overshirt and our Riviera short-sleeve shirt, as well as a tie, all of which come in a lovely slubby linen cloth, perfect for sophisticated spring and summer fits.
